Before you start
Social Draw sessions are saved and shareable, but unscored: no results, no leaderboard. They're for a casual club night where you still want the roster, groups, and printable court sheet that Competitive Draw gives you, just without the scoring.
If you just want a one-off draw for tonight with no club roster at all, that's what the free Quick Draw tool is for. Social Draw is the saved version, built from your club's actual roster, groups, and grades.
You'll need your club's password. Player names, gender, and skill level are managed on the Roster page, covered in a separate guide.
Generating a session
Open the app and sign in
- Tap the Social Draw card on the home screen.
- Sign in with your club's password, if you're not already signed in. The sign-in box shows which club it's signing you in to, so there's no username or email to type.
Choose the group
If your club has more than one group:
- Desktop: tap its tab along the top.
- Mobile: select the group from the dropdown.
If your club runs skill grades, those show up as their own row of tabs too, the same as Competitive Draw. A grade's roster is simply everyone currently in that grade.
There's no "One-off session" option here, since an unscored one-off with no group involved is exactly what Quick Draw is for. Social Draw is always generated from a group or grade.
Select players
- Tick everyone playing tonight from the player grid.
- Same as last time: reselects last session's players.
- All / Clear: selects or deselects everyone currently visible in the grid.
- Search box: finds and adds someone not already shown, or a brand-new player.
- Edit group: lets you remove someone from this group or change their gender flag, without leaving the page.
On a grade session, anyone added who has no grade yet shows an "Ungraded" tag on their chip. Tap it to assign them a grade on the spot, or leave it as-is to just include them for tonight.
Check session settings
- Date: defaults to today and isn't remembered, so check it before generating a session for a future date.
- Courts, Duration, Round length: set the structure of the night.
- Rounds: auto-fills from Duration and Round length. Use +/- to override it.
- Label: an optional free-text note, for example "Courts 1-3".
Choose partners
Rotating partners (the default) shuffles partners freely each round, with no repeats. Social Draw doesn't offer the "Skill balanced" ranking option Competitive Draw has, since there's no scoring to balance for.
Fixed partners keeps the same partner all night, either Auto-assign (pairs players automatically) or You choose (tap two players to pair them yourself).
Generate the draw
Tap "Generate session" at the bottom of the settings.
- If a Social Draw session already exists for the date you've selected, you'll be asked to confirm before it's replaced. A Competitive Draw session for the same group and date is unaffected, they're tracked separately.
- You'll be taken straight to the session page, ready to print and share.
- You can reorder the rounds using the drag handles on the left.
- Sub player lets you replace a player at any stage after the draw has been made.
- Swap players within a round to rebalance. Warnings will display if this creates repeat partners or opposition.
Running the session
Print the draw (optional)
Tap "Print" in the action row.
- Produces the same printable sheet as Competitive Draw, including a blank score box beside each matchup, in case your group likes to keep a casual tally on paper. Pickley itself doesn't track or save anything written there, since Social Draw sessions are unscored.
- You can save as a PDF on mobile and/or print to a local printer on desktop.
Share the link (optional)
- Tap "Copy link" to copy this session's URL, and share it however suits your club.
- The printed sheet also carries a QR code linking to the same page, so a player standing at a wall-mounted printout can scan it instead.
- Anyone with the link can open the session on their own phone to see the round-by-round schedule. No sign-in needed.
What players see
There's nothing to enter. Each round just shows the matchups with "VS" between the two pairs, no score boxes, no "Done" pill, and no progress bar, since Social Draw doesn't track results.
If you'd rather run a scored night with a live leaderboard, that's Competitive Draw, using the same roster and groups.
Separate guides cover running a Competitive Draw session, and managing your roster and groups. See all guides.
